Black Copal is powerful form of copal from Mexico, Peru, and the Amazon regions.   It was burned by Mayans as a offering to the gods and ancestors.   In modern times it is used by Medicans as an offering to the ancestors on the Day of the Dead.  It is also used by Mayan healers to cleanse the body, spaces and objects of negativity.    This incense is not burned by itself but on hot charcoal.
